Russian Mail Order Bride Scam Continued

Since I recently posted another article dedicated to Russian mail order bride scams, I have received a number of responses from online daters, single men who have encountered quite a few online dating Russian bride scammers via online dating sites. Yet again, it seems that scammers love using traditional online dating sites, such as Match.com and other popular mainstream dating sites that service mainly the United States and cater mostly to local singles. It appears, however, that Russian mail order bride scammers have become more sophisticated than they used to be. Now, with the increased awareness of Russian mail order bride scams, the scammers have to be more creative.

One of my loyal subscribers who has been coming to my dating blog regularly, has noted my article How to crack a Russian Mail Order Bride Scam and decided to write to me about a recent incident with a Russian mail order bride scam.

Here is what he writes:

Hi Elaine,

I was looking at you dating advice website. I noticed that you had mentioned Russian bridal scams. Check out the email I got. This is not the first time this has happened to me but the fourth time. She was trying to see if I could send her $950 for her plane ticket to the U.S.
In my next emails you will notice that I was playing along to see where she would go with it.

Apparently, the Russian mail order bride scammer contacted my subscriber via Match.com. Although Match.com is strict as far as dating site scammers go and seems to eradicate them fast and effectively, Russian bridal con artists still manage to get a few “leads” before they get caught and banned from Match.com. Like all the other Russian bridal scammers, this one immediately provided my single friend with her disposable e-mail address and the scam began. This time, however, the scammer suggested that she was planning to come to the US from Russia.
My single friend responded to the scammer by e-mailing to the direct e-mail address provided as instructed by the scammer, noting that he got her e-mail via a particular online dating site, Match.com

Hi there,

I got an email from you through Match.com. This my personal email. When are you going to be coming to the bay area?

The Russian bridal scammer immediately responded:

Hi! Thank's a lot for your answer!
I'm not sure what could I write for the first time, I'm sending my photos...
I have many photos, sorry I don't have any professional one, just usual photos. Let me know and I can send more pics!
I'm looking forward to visiting your beautiful country and I would like to find a man over there who will be interested in meeting me!
I've never been abroad before and I would like to visit it so much!
I'm looking for a friend, lover or maybe even something serious...
I'm a free bird now, I don't have a boyfriend and I'm open to anything!!! Pls send me your photos and write me about yourself!!!!
I would like to have a serious relationship although I don't know if that's possible in internet so I'm looking just for a good man who can show me over there and....... we will see!!!!!!!! I hope you like my pics!
I`m 26 years old, I hope my age is ok for you?? My height is 5.6
May I hope that you will write me back? I hope so much!
Also I hope I'm your type of girl, I'm not sure you like Slavic appearance!!

The e-mail included two photos of the so-called Russian bride. One was a head shot, and one was a full body shot, just like I recommend in my dating advice articles regarding dating site pictures. So, the Russian bridal scammer knows the rules!
My single friend went along with that for a while even though he immediately suspected that it was nothing but a scam. After he responded to the scammer’s e-mail, another e-mail from the Russian scammer flowed shortly.

Hello!!! This is me again! I decided to send you more info about me.
Sorry I don't have much time to write now because my sister is waiting for me.

Clearly this bridal scammer was a lot more sophisticated than the ones before. This e-mail sounded somewhat legitimate and honest, not the kind of transparent con that we are used to seeing in multiple rip off reports about Russian mail order bride scams. Pretty clever this time. The so-called Russian bride even send photos with her family. Looks real so far, doesn’t it?

The following e-mail had a subject line “Hopefully your future girlfriend!”

This is me again! I was so happy when I saw your e-mail in my mail box.
Thank you very much for your photo! I think its very important to know how a person looks like with whom you are corresponding!
I really like you so much! Now I know that you are interested in me and I hope we will be able to meet soon when I will come to your area. Why I chose you? I found you at the site by chance. Telling from the beginning I know a
woman who is on a dating site. That profile wasn't mine, it was a profile of that woman, but she let me find
someone from the dating site from her profile. I don't know how to use the site, so I found you by chance and wrote you.
I think I should write you more things about me, I hope it will be interesting for you to know me better!
As I wrote you I`m 26 years old, My birthday is 29 of July 1981.
I'm 167 cm tall (5.5.) and 51 kg weight. Naturally, more photos were included with the e-mail. Some of them were more provocative as the ones before. By “provocative” I mean that they were taken at a swimming pool or at a beach featuring a beautiful model looking Russian bride wearing a swimsuit.
I really do start to wonder whether scammers in Russia buy sets of real life photos from attractive young women by bulk.

More nonsense followed. It almost seemed like the Russian mail order bride scammer was overcompensating over flooding my single friend with multiple pictures taken in a variety of setting. The next e-mail had another catchy subject line, “From the sweetest girl in the world!!!”

Sometimes I go to the theatre but not often. There is only one small theatre in my city and there is nothing interesting.

and dancers but I can't go there often because it's quite expensive.
